Loppet to Host the 2017 AXCS National Masters Championship
Returning to Minnesota for the first time since 2005, the 2017 American Cross Country Skiers (AXCS) National Masters will take place in conjunction with the City of Lakes Loppet Ski Festival weekend at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis – the same site of the 2018 Masters World Cup event that will take place one year later.
All participants ages 30 and older will be considered officially part of the competition and will be eligible to be awarded National Masters titles and/or the U.S. Masters XC Ski Team designation – no additional AXCS registration is necessary.
The following events have been selected as official races by the AXCS Board of Directors:
Saturday, February 4
- 42km Hoigaard’s Classic Marathon — Skiers age 30-59
- 21km Classic Puoli Loppet — Skiers age 60+
Sunday, February 5
- 21km Skate Puoli Loppet — All ages over 30
