Help prepare the Loppet Trail System for the 2009-2010 ski season. See the new stadium and additions to the snowmaking loop for the first time, rake, shovel and make perfect… Free t-shirt and lunch. Sign up in advance to become eligible for grand door prize from REI Co-Op.

• When: Saturday, October 24, 9am-1pm
• Where: Meet at the Theodore Wirth Chalet (1301 Theodore Wirth Parkway) – Plymouth Avenue andWirth Parkway (note that this is a change from the usual location at Wirth Beach)
• Wear: Work boots or shoes and work gloves.
• What: Prepare trails for skiing: pruning, seeding, putting down wood chips, raking, buckthorn removal.
• Needs: As many people as possible – lots of work to do!
• Extras: T-shirts for first 50 registrants and lunch provided by event sponsor REI Co-Op.
• Sign up: To volunteer for this event, sign up on-line at www.cityoflakesloppet.com. Those that sign up in advance (by Thursday, October 22) will be eligible for the “grand prize” door prize - donated by REI.
• Bring: Pole saws, shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, hand saws, gloves, loping shears etc… and a penchant for fun!
