Updated Race Day Parking
Parking this year will be worse than ever. The parking lot at Wirth Beach was supposed to be finished long ago, but with the tornado damage in the area, those plans fell through. The parking lot directly across from the picnic pavilion is still under construction. However, the Park Board has made the grassy area on the north side of Glenwood – to the east of the start/finish line – available for parking. Access this area by driving east on Glenwood to Xerxes Avenue. Xerxes is on the south side of the road – but turn to the north into the grassy area. Trail Loppet parking map. Plan on about a quarter mile walk back to the start/finish area. Registration is at the top of the hill in the picnic pavilion.
There is additional parking on Washburn and Xerxes, to the east of the start/finish area, but please be respectful of the neighbors.
Those who can bike, walk, run or carpool with at least four participants in the car will receive a free brat or hot dog for their efforts. Note that Penn Cycle is sponsoring a bike corral with convenient parking right near the start/finish line.
