Midwest Junior Championships Adds Festival Elements
In addition to the normal great racing at the Midwest Junior Championships, the 2015 event includes several new festival events:
- Fish Scale Frenzy – Racing with fish scale skis
- Ski-Cross – A net downhill course featuring slalom, jumps, turns and twists
- Ski-Tug-of-War – Teams compete head-to-head in a battle where klister might be a good idea . . .
- Paintball Biathlon – Ski, shoot a paintball rifle, ski, repeat . . .
- Scooter Soccer – Soccer with one ski on . . .
- 6-Person Skis – Teams compete head-to-head with giant 25′ skis
- Festival Passport – Participate in all the Festival Events and earn team prizes and a chance to win great door prizes
All events are Saturday morning 9:45 a.m. – 1 p.m. More Information. Festival Schedule. Teams – like Minnesota Youth Ski League Clubs or other like groups – compete in the various events and for the most participation. The team with the most completed passports will receive an Adventure Day at Wirth Park in the spring. For all completed festival passports there will also be drawings at the awards ceremony for signed Jessie Diggins posters.
