2015 Loppet Games – October 24
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Wirth Beach
Last fall, over one hundred kids attended the annual Loppet Games at Wirth Beach. Young, aspiring cross-country skiers, ages eight to thirteen enjoyed a morning of obstacle courses, orienteering, adventure racing and strength competitions.
During this fun day of activities and friendly competition, kids are scored in their age categories on three events: double pole, box jump and obstacle course race. Top three scores in each age category win medals.
Following these activities, adults and kids can participate in the Loppet Games Age Gap Relay event. Last year we had close to sixty teams compete in the event. The course is held on the same adventure run course for the Loppet Games that includes some fun obstacles that teams must run over and under. Each relay team is made up of an adult and child. The event is run in Team Sprint format in which the adult completes the course first, tagging to the child. Each partner goes twice.
