Bittersweet News Regarding Cajun Twist
Eight months ago Cajun Twist opened to great fanfare in The Trailhead. This was the first foray into a bricks and mortar restaurant experience for Cajun Twist’s leader, Teona Washington, a dynamic young African-American woman. It was a great experience for Teona and now she is on to her next endeavor – her own independent restaurant – soon to open in South Minneapolis.
“The Trailhead and the Loppet have been a great experience,” says Washington. “Me and my staff really learned the ropes at The Trailhead – can’t thank the Loppet team enough for the great experience.”
Loppet executive director John Munger shares this sentiment. “Teona came in, worked her tail off, and served our customers well. We wish she was here to stay, but we understand that even bigger and better things are ahead for her. We’re pretty happy that we were able to help incubate Cajun Twist – exactly our mission to do things like this!”
Cajun Twist expects to keep operating at The Trailhead through early November. In the meantime, the Loppet Foundation will be issuing a request for proposals for a new concession vendor. That RFP will probably be going out soon. Look for the RFP on the Loppet website. In the meantime, if you or someone you know might be interested in pursuing a great new opportunity to be part of the Loppet team, please call Loppet executive director John Munger at 612-618-9681 or Trailhead Director Isaac Kasper at 703-989-5008. (Call soon – because once the RFP is issued in order to keep the process fair we cannot have one-on-one conversations).
