Junior Loppet Invitational Recap

Saturday, February 19th was the 2nd Annual Junior Loppet Invitational! Big thanks to NEMS for hosting! 

Saturday morning was race day for the Junior Loppet teams from Northeast, Anwatin and Franklin middle schools with both individual and team relay events. The individual races kicked off the Invitational with 3K/2K/1K races and everyone was pumped! The groomed trails at Columbia Golf Course made for the perfect setting for the Junior Loppet Teams to show off their skills. 

The skiers got to warm up post individual race in the warming tents where they were could refuel with hot chocolate and snacks, though most immediately came back outside to cheer on their friends as they proudly crossed the finish line. The team relay events had everyone showing their team spirit (and sense of humor with their naming choices) as they proudly encouraged their teammates to get it their all. It was a really wonderful Saturday morning and so great to see everyone getting outside and enjoying winter! 

A big thanks to all of the coaches, parents, volunteers and of course, the Junior Loppet skiers who gave it 110%! What an awesome Saturday morning. 

The skiers in the Junior Loppet are supported by Share Winter Foundation, helping local youth get involved with skiing and snowboarding and starting what we hope will be a lifelong passion for the sport and getting outside. Thank you Share Winter!
