Tuesday Evenings @ Theodore Wirth
Get in shape for skiing with pre-season dryland training. Experienced coaches will lead sessions that include pole hiking/running, hill bounding, interval work and strength/conditioning. Balance work, ski specific circuit strength, and perfecting basic skiing motions will be woven throughout the sessions. Bring CLASSIC LENGTH ski poles to workouts.
Dates: September 3th – Nov 5 (10 sessions)
Day: Tuesday evenings
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (will move to 5:00pm in mid Oct)
Location: Wirth Beach, Theodore Wirth Park
Equipment: running shoes, bounding poles
Coach: Vivian Hett and Ben Olson
Cost: $235 or $250 after August 23rd
Women's Wednesday Mornings @ Theodore Wirth
Sessions will include balance, strength, and dryland drills. All sessions will include an intensity component in the form of ski walking, running and/or bounding. The goals of this session are:
- Perfect basic skiing motions such as arm swing, classic kick and leg swing, and side push skate motion with legs.
- Gain strength in the important xc skiing muscle groups such as abdominal muscles, lower back, glutes, and quads.
- Make improvements in balance and ankle strength so that skills of weight shift and long glide become easier on snow.
- Weekly interval and strength circuit sessions to improve your fitness and results for the winter race season!
- Make more life long women training friends (we often have post workout potlucks)!
Fall 2024 Women’s Dry-land Training Group Information
Day: Wednesday mornings, September 4- November 13 (11 weeks)
Time: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Location: The Trailhead, Theodore Wirth Park ( some sessions will meet at Wirth Beach for a variety of terrain and trails)
Equipment: Running shoes, bounding poles, yoga mat
Head Coach: Kim Rudd and Jan Guenther
Program: Sessions include core strength, bounding, interval and yoga/stretch.
Wednesday mornings, September 4- November 13 (11 weeks) $255

Tuesday Mornings @ Minnehaha Falls
Strength and ski specific plyometrics at Wabun Picnic area. This session is for all abilities using primarily body weights and bands, with additional focus on core strength, balance, and mobility that will really help your get more comfortable and speedy on your skis this winter. This is a great complement to the Friday Morning Dryland Intensity Sessions at Minnehaha Falls. There is a discount if you register for both Tuesday/Friday at Minnehaha Falls.

Equipment: running shoes, and yoga mat

Cost: $191, or $305 if paired with Friday morning Dryland Intensity
Friday Mornings @ Minnehaha Falls
Dryland Intensity and Technique for xc skiers- though this is super training for runners and all endurance athletes. Training will include some strength/plyometrics exercises, but the primary focus will be bounding, ski walking, and running intervals using the hilly terrain around Minnehaha Falls. This is a great complement to the Tuesday Morning Strength at Minnehaha Falls. There is a discount if you register for both Tuesday/Friday at Minnehaha Falls.
