Connecting people to the outdoors through experiences that grow community.

Adventures Outcomes

Belonging

Being part of team cultivates shared identity among a community of allies, mentors, and friends.

Experience

Immersion in community and nature through meaningful place-based experiential education nurtures creativity, resilience, and life-skills. It’s also a lot of fun!

Healing

Connections grounded in community, nature, and place are the foundation from which we work together towards mental and physical wellbeing, and individual and collective healing.

Empowerment

Practicing and realizing new skills in the midst of community fuels self-esteem, the motivation to reach towards goals, and the passion to work for positive change.

Junior Loppet

Junior Loppet is a year-round, after-school program designed to empower middle school students in Minneapolis through a variety of outdoor activities, such as cross-country skiing, mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, paddling, camping, and nature exploration. The program targets schools where the majority of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Junior Loppet fosters key outcomes of experiencehealingbelonging, and empowerment. The program meets 2-3 days per week during the school year and runs throughout the summer, offering a combination of training, events, races, and weekend camping trips.

Minne Loppet

The Minne-Loppet program is designed to introduce elementary school students from North Minneapolis and Osseo area schools to the joy of spending time outdoors via cross-country skiing, and healthy living. We partner with schools where a majority of the students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. The program takes place during the school day on school grounds, where students learn the basics of being active outdoors as well as healthy eating habits to support their physical activity. The primary goal of Minne-Loppet is to build self-confidence, foster pride in their abilities, and instill a love for outdoor activities in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Adventures Pathways

The Loppet Foundation’s Adventures Intern works closely with the Adventures Leaderships team to assist with Adventures programming, as well as learning various career opportunities within Loppet Foundation. This position was created to give youth the opportunity to gain job skills and hands on work experience in the outdoors industry. The position works across the organization to learn and assist with daily programming.

Adventures Field Trips

Book a field trip, retreat or day at Theodore Wirth! Let us plan a day for your students, staff or community.  Winter, Spring or Fall (not during the summer because we are hosting Adventure Summer Camp).  Year round opportunities to connect to nature, explore outdoor activities and peace outdoors.

Adventures Camps
